Concrete, brick, dirt, rock and other clean heavy fill go in a dedicated low-side box. That’s $450, with the weight quoted per project, because heavy loads price by what’s actually in them. Don’t put that material in a standard can. You’ll bury it before it’s a third full.

What You Throw In Is What Moves the Bill

Every size on that grid comes with a weight allowance, and it’s printed there because it’s the number that decides whether the price you booked is the price you pay. The 10-yard includes 2,000 lbs. The 40-yard includes 10,000 lbs. Anything over the allowance is $59 a ton, and that rate is the same on every size we run.

That’s also why heavy material gets its own box. Concrete, brick, dirt and rock go in the $450 low-side container with the weight quoted per project, not into a standard can.

It’s also why the middle three sizes are worth comparing before you book. The 13, 17 and 21 all sit on the same 14 x 7 footprint, so the only thing changing is wall height and what you’re allowed to load under it: 3,000 lbs, 4,000 lbs, 5,000 lbs. Same driveway space, different ceiling on the bill.

Where the Can Sits, and What We Need Before We Roll

Tell us where you want it. Driveway, gravel pad, side yard, job site. That’s where the driver puts it.

Roll-off delivery needs a straight run and headroom, so before we show up: move the vehicles, unlock the gate, and tell us about low limbs, tight turns or a soft spot that went to mush in the last rain. If you’re protective of a nice driveway, lay boards where the wheels and rails will sit.

Nearly every can we drop sits on private property, and that’s the simple version. If your job needs it out in the street or the right-of-way instead, check with the city first, then call us and we’ll work around whatever they tell you.

The drive isn’t your problem. Our yard is 21 miles from central Kilgore, and we come east on 64 and then north on 135 into town. That’s about thirty-five minutes with a can on the truck, and it’s our thirty-five minutes, not yours.

Kilgore Sits in Two Counties

Kilgore is a two-county city. Gregg County is the primary one, and the south end of town spills over into Rusk County. That’s straight off the Census place file, and it catches people out, because a Kilgore mailing address on its own doesn’t tell you which county you’re standing in.

The City Will Take Your Limbs. Not Your Renovation.

Kilgore does run a free waste programme, and we’d rather point you at it than take your money. It just isn’t built for renovation debris.

The city collects brush at the curb free of charge three times a year: February, July and October. The pile has to stay under six feet long, six wide and six high, and limbs can’t be more than six inches across or longer than six feet. The number for it is (903) 984-5081.

Then read the city’s own exclusion list, because it’s unusually specific. No leaves, grass clippings or pine straw. No household garbage, furniture, carpet, lawn equipment, metal or appliances. No construction materials, glass, concrete, lumber, cross ties, fence posts, landscape timbers or other processed wood. And in the city’s own words, “Commercially cut trees and lot clearing will not be collected.”

Read that list again and it’s close to an inventory of a remodel. Bulk items like an old couch or an appliance don’t ride out with the regular trash either. The city’s page says a special bulk pickup has to be arranged, and gives 903-986-5324 to arrange it.

Residential solid waste service is $23.56 a month for once-a-week trash and once-a-week recycling, with an extra cart at $3.00 a month, three to a home. That also covers, in the fee schedule’s own wording, “One landfill visit (3 cubic yards) per month, per resident with current city water bill or city documentation.”

And that visit is one trip. The closest permitted Type I landfill to Kilgore sits in unincorporated Gregg County, roughly five miles north of downtown near the US 259 and I-20 interchange, and there’s no permitted transfer station anywhere in Gregg, Rusk or Smith County to shorten the run. One load a month is a fine errand. Six loads over a weekend is a weekend.

So the whole municipal route is three yards a month and three brush pickups a year. If your job is a fence line and a few limbs, use it and keep your money. The city runs a green waste drop-off in Kilgore, open Friday through Sunday, and free mulch is available there year-round.
